Amazon Mechanical Turk (AMT) is a micro-work service launched by Amazon.com in late 2005. It is a crowdsourcing web platform that aims to have humans perform tasks of varying complexity for a fee. The tasks in question must be dematerialised; they often involve analysing or producing information in areas where artificial intelligence is still underperforming, such as analysing the content of images.
